BW FAB- Machinist I

Department: BW Fab Reports to: Production Supervisor FLSA Status: Non-Exempt SUMMARY Responsible for ensuring that company products meet customers’ machining standards and specifications.
Generally, is capable of working with simple prints, very little geometrics or tolerancing, moderate skill level and setup experience; also capable of running semi-complex machines with direct supervision.

Supervisory Responsibilities - None Duties Completion of documentation (e.
g.
Routers, etc).
Directly conducts machining of standard catalog vacuum components.
Verify dimensions to blueprint using basic measuring instruments (calipers, tape measure, and height gage) and calculation tools to reach specifications.
Will work with Quality Assurance, Manufacturing Engineering, Production Control, Sales, etc in order to determine proper sequencing, procedures and priorities.

General Qualifications: Able to read, understand and follow job-routing instructions accurately.
Knows how to operate machining equipment in a safe manner.
Able to verify conformance to standards, using specific measuring equipment, and/or by visual examination.
Education and/or Experience Any combination of education, training and experience equivalent to graduation from High School, or that would provide required knowledge, skill and ability to successfully perform the assigned job duties.
Minimum of 0-months in related Machining experience.
Receives appropriate direction or supervision on assignments from higher-level Machinist, and/or appropriate interdepartmental personnel.
Exercises moderate level of independent, discretionary judgment on a regular basis.
Language Skills Good verbal and written communication skills.
Mathematical Skills Basic mathematics skills.
Reasoning Ability Able to work in a fast-paced shop, with quickly changing work priorities, and with minimal interaction to complete assignments on time.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations TOOLS AND/OR EQUIPMENT WORK ENVIRONMENT 100% machining/shop floor environment; routine lifting to 50 pounds, and occasional lifting up to 100 pounds with assistance.
Required to wear protective equipment, e g, eye and hearing protection where required.
This position requires work in factory settings.
