Position Summary: The Electrical and Instrumentation Technician is an hourly position and reports to the Electrical Maintenance Supervisor.
The Electrical and Instrumentation Technician is responsible for the reliability, repair, and maintenance of electrical and instrumentation devices in the plant, including PLCs, motors, and control systems.
The ideal candidate acts as a process expert in dealing with electrical and instrumentation responsibilities throughout the manufacturing facility.
This includes reacting to process and equipment issues, preventive, and predictive maintenance, as well as elimination of special cause variation while driving safety & quality and optimizing plant efficiency.
Position Responsibilities: Troubleshoot and install electrical circuits based on electrical schematics.
Install, program, and troubleshoot various PLC platforms and variable frequency drives.
Improves efficiency, troubleshoots, and resolves problems using trend data, digital multi-meters, and oscilloscopes.
Performs all work in accordance with established safety procedures.
Commitment to working safely, and a willingness to work overtime and adjust work schedules to accommodate shutdown and other business needs, including working nights, weekends and off-shifts.
Resolve process problems by identifying root cause and implementing process controls and/or procedure changes.
Creating, maintaining, and documenting Preventative Maintenance procedures and processes and communicating these to the appropriate personnel plant wide.
Required Skills & Education: Must be able to work 38-60 hrs.
per week.

6:30am-7pm or 6:30pm-7 am including holidays if scheduled.
Strong Electrician and Mechanical troubleshooting skills.
An understanding of industrial control circuits.
Manufacturing experience preferred.
Ability to work independently; highly self-motivated, self-directed and be results oriented.
Must have a desire to contribute and work in a team environment (lead and interact with operations, maintenance, technical/engineering and management) Desired Skills: Journeyman or LME electrical license issued by the State of Oregon preferred.
AAS in Electrical Engineering Technology or equivalent degree preferred.
Willingness to advance and continue individual trade learning process by attending and completing apprenti ceshipprograms as defi ned by the employer / employee.
Experience in setting up and programming various HMI packages including Panelview, Panelmate, Proface, and others.
Familiarity with Variable Frequency Drives, PLC's, Instrumentation, and motor control circuits.
