POSITION SUMMARY:
The Automation Techician will take advantage of modern automation techniques such as robotics, vision, scanning, and other systems to maximize competitiveness of business processes.
The company will rely on the Automation Technician to become the subject matter expert in such systems to optimize delivery of production requirements, coordinate between production-quality-maintenance and engineering departments, and to provide detailed and concise training and documentation for current and future users.
MAJOR TASKS:
Complies with all safety requirements as well as acts as an example of safe practices on a consistent basis.
Seeks innovative continuous improvement opportunities and recommends equipment and processes to streamline the manufacturing process and improve overall safety.
Ensures all parties to a project are fully informed and updated on project design, changes, and developments regarding advanced technologies.
Act as a liaison with the Company’s outside engineering partners to define, develop, and assimilate technology deliverables.
Be available to drive and support initiatives company wide, requiring occasional domestic and international travel.
SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
5+ years’ related technical training or programming experience required.
A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/Engineering or comparable experience is preferred.
Experience with robotic or multi-axis integration and programming is preferred.
Strong math skills including algebra, calculus, and statistics is preferred.
Strong verbal and written communication skills, strong prioritization and organizational skills, and conceptual, analytical and problem solving abilities.
Self-motivated and independently driven.
Experience in Microsoft products.
