Description:The Safety Coordinator is responsible for assisting in implementing and enforcing all safety policies at the company.
This person should be fully competent in all aspects of OSHA requirements and safety policies.
This includes state and federal OSHA standards, warehouse safety, construction safety, fleet safety, and fall protection.
This person should be able to work independently to ensure that all company safety policies are being adhered to, not a safety cop, but a culture leader.
*Essential Job Functions:*
* Create policies and procedures aligned with federal and state OSHA requirements
* Manage incidents, ensure proper reporting, and trend for corrective actions
* Visit job sites and branch facilities to create and sustain a company safety culture
* Perform on site inspections to ensure compliance
* Respond to emergency situations due to weather and on the job incidents
* Investigate incidents to find the root cause and communicate to teams on risk mitigation
* Compile OSHA logs and all state OSHA responses
Requirements:*Required skills and abilities:*
* Extensive knowledge of OSHA and safety requirements, will also need to know/learn Oregon OSHA & Iowa OSHA
* Proficient with Google suite and software
* Experience with standard operating procedures and policies
* High attention to detail and quality
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills
* Management or leadership experience required
* Experience with CRM or project management software
* Keep up to date with codes and safety requirements
* Ability to maintain professional attitude
* Experience with construction trades preferred
*Required Certifications and Trainings:*
* OSHA 30
* Safety credentials are encouraged, not required
*Minimum Qualifications:*
* Minimum 2-4+ years experience in similar role
* Minimum 1 years experience in independent or leadership role
* Insurable driving record and valid driver's license required
