Company Description Responsible for identifying, developing, maintaining and supervising a staff skilled and knowledgeable in manufacturing technology for the purpose of minimizing product cost and maximizing product manufacturing efficiency through the use of existing and new techniques.
Maximizes product quality and minimizes product liability exposure by utilization of manufacturing technology, quality control and maintenance supervision.
Job Description Proactively create programs to improve yield and process efficiencies in production environment.
Support new product introductions and Engineering Change Notifications (ECN), as they relate to tooling, CNC and PLC programming, shop floor routings, and equipment.
Support the shop floor in reporting needs, problem solving, work flow, standard work, and quality systems.
Complete projects to assigned areas to improve operational functionality.
Manage capital expenditure activities including equipment selection, writing purchase requisitions, invoice processing, installation, and training.
Provide facilities engineering support.
Design production tooling and equipment as needed.
Duties and Responsibilities: · Support all capital equipment activities.
Manage projects as directed.
· Responsible for prototype testing and R&D Dept.
feedback · Responsible for implementing projects that reduce material usage and overall cost of production.
· Create CNC programs · Maintain CNC programs · Proactively automate the CNC programming process · Work closely with production to improve processes that are related to part production · Create and modify routings for new products · Ensure tooling for new products are in place · Analysis of tooling efficiencies and cost models · Provide new product support for manufacturing · Understand CAD drawing hierarchy and document control management · Track and drive product development cycles and product changes / updates · Provide AutoCad and Autodesk Inventor support to manufacturing · Update facility drawings as needed · Support safety activities related to production equipment and facilities · Support other departments with engineering activities when requested.
· Participate in MPS activities as required · Design production tooling, equipment, fixtures, and gauges Qualifications Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: · Proficient skills in MS Office (Word, Excel, Project, Access), Lotus, Internet, Windows, AutoCAD, and AutoDesk Inventor · Working knowledge of PLC programming · Lean Manufacturing knowledge · Ability to understand product routings, bill of material, and costing theory and practice · Ability to produce blueprints for facility, product, and tooling · Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects · Possess effective written and verbal skills with all levels of the organization · Ability to conduct meetings · Ability to serve as project or kaizen team leader · Ability to work within a team environment for continuous improvement gains · Knowledge of sheet metal fabrication, welding, and machining desired Education, Experience: · BS degree in Manufacturing, Industrial, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent is required.
· Five years experience in manufacturing plant · Six sigma black belt or green belt desired Additional Information Work Environment: · Office environment with frequent environmental exposure to low-grade radiation from computer monitors · Manufacturing environment, with frequent exposure to wood dusts, and cabinet-making related materials.
· Wearing of Personal Protection Equipment required when on manufacturing floor: eye and ear protection.
