Job Summary: Our internship program provides students with the opportunity to work side by side with our team and work on tasks and projects that are meaningful and have a direct impact on our business.
Interns will be paired with a seasoned manager and/or team members and receive guidance about the specifics of their activities and projects as well as knowledge about our industry and business.
The objectives of our internships are to provide students with knowledge, experience and relationships to further their career.
Each intern will be given at least one project to own and may be expected to present their findings to Lighthouse Worldwide Solutions leadership team at the completion of the project.
These projects will provide hands-on experience in any one or more of our functional areas including manufacturing, continuous improvement, accounting, safety, purchasing, sales, service, engineering, marketing, customer service, human resources and IT.
Participate in below assignments/projects: Follow all safety rules and regulations, all work must be done thinking “Safety First.
” Good communication skills.
Ability to work with and as a Team.
Supports the assembly and testing of new optical and mechanical components.
Modify, diagnose, and repair PCBA’s and wire assemblies.
Read and understand PCBA schematics and wire assembly drawings.
Assists in preparing information and research materials; creates and maintains engineering spreadsheets and data bases.
Takes notes and memos during meetings; type documents and reports; sort and manage files.
Works with engineering personnel on various tasks to accomplish project goals.
Get along with others, not creating an offensive or hostile work environment.
Able to lift up to 40 pounds and 41+ pounds as a two-person lift.
Shadow multiple office positions and train in a variety of tasks Work with other managers with various tasks At completion of project present project overview to select management team Additional activities may include: Attending at least one department meeting Attend a lunch and learn with Dept.
Manager, Human Resources and/or Company President Create a PowerPoint presentation at the end of internship to present to Dept.
Manager, Human Resources and/or Company President Other projects as assigned.
Skills and Qualifications: Effective written and verbal communication skills Strong interpersonal skills Team player, able to work collaboratively as well as independently.
Self-starter, able to take initiative and manage time effectively.
Adaptable and comfortable with change Able to think critically and solve problems.
Ability to read/update and redline engineering drawings/schematics Some experience with hand tools, power tools, diagnostic tools, and engineering lab equipment such as: DMM and Oscilloscope.
Outstanding work ethic and positive attitude An innate curiosity and willingness to learn.
Entrepreneurial mindset Minimum Requirements: Sign company non-disclosure and Confidentiality Agreement Must be enrolled or graduated in accredited college.
Must have completed lower division physics and mathematics courses.
Experience with Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Windows, and Internet usage.
