Summary of Position Responsible for providing exceptional customer service while ensuring dock safety at all times and maintaining the marina facility and equipment.
Responsibilities
Assist other Dockhands with securing boats to docks, monitoring power, water and phone services, facility sanitation and waste disposal as applicable
Greet guests and sell tickets for Boat Tours
Clean, inspect and report on the condition of the rental fleet
Process and complete boat rentals and launch boats with a focus on safety
Ensure that all customers receive excellent customer service by responding promptly to inquiries and requests
Orient customers to proper safety procedures and provide accurate instructions related to life-safety devices
Operate boats and other equipment as requested in a safe and responsible manner
Inspect facilities for damage or hazardous conditions and prepare any work lists and orders as needed.
Maintain general security while reporting potential concerns to the Manager
Refuel boats as required adhering to all safety procedures
Other duties as requested
Requirements
Must be able to lift kayaks, boats and outboard motors in and out of the water
Possess line handling skills including ability to tie various knots, toss and cleat lines
Possess unlimited ability to swim, and work safely around water or on ladders or in confined spaces
Possess upbeat and professional verbal communication skills
Must be organized and able to adhere to schedules
Willing to be cross-trained to support other departments when requested
Must represent the Company and Park in a professional manner by wearing a company uniform, name badge, etc.
Must be able to lift up to 25-30 pounds occasionally without assistance and up to 70 pounds with assistance
Must be able to effectively use a PC and radio and conduct operation monitoring
Must be able to bend, twist, squat and stand on feet for up to 8 hours per day
Education and Experience:
Education: High school diploma or equivalent
Experience: Minimum two (2) years customer service experience
Prior dockhand experience preferred
