_*POSITION PURPOSE:*_
To contribute to the profitability of Gates Home Furnishings by developing and maintaining effective sales and contact with present and potential customers.
_*Sales Associate Responsibilities:*_
* Responding to questions, improving engagement with merchandise, and providing outstanding customer service.
* Explaining options on discounts for payment in full -OR- financing options
* Achieving established monthly goals.
* Directing customers to merchandise within the store.
* Increasing in store sales.
* Superior and continuous product knowledge.
* Introducing promotions and opportunities to customers.
* Cross-selling products to increase purchase amounts (GCS Furniture care programs)
* Greet guests as they enter the shop, ask whether they would like assistance with anything and provide help if needed in a friendly, hospitable, and efficient manner
* Remain knowledgeable about and answer questions related to merchandise, sales, and store policy
* Price out and design custom built furniture customers desires and needs, putting a room design
to present to a potential customers.
_*Sales Associate Requirements:*_
* High school diploma.
* Retail sales experience (not required but preferred)
* Interior Design highly preferred (exceptions can be made)
* Maintaining an orderly and professional appearance throughout the sales floor.
* Maintain a positive attitude and focus on customer satisfaction in a fast-paced environment.
* The ability to read, write, perform basic math, computer, tablet skills and phones.
* The ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time and be able to lift 20 lbs.
* Provide recommendations based on customer’s stated preferences, needs and desires
* Create a warm and cozy atmosphere for our guests in accordance with the vision of the store by acting in a welcoming and approachable manner during customer interactions
* Work weekends, Saturday and Sundays are our busiest and most successful days.
* Punctuation is key, daily meetings are held for the continuation of upcoming sales and product knowledge.
* 5 day / 40 hour work week with 2 consecutive days off in a row.
* Reliability and punctuation is very important to our entire operation in order to function as a team.
