General Statement of Responsibilities Primarily responsible for carrying out Chapter 851/Division 61 administrative rules as they apply to the standards for program approval through the Oregon State Board of Nursing.
This position serves as the college liaison to the Oregon State Board of Nursing for the nursing assistant programs along with providing quality instruction to nursing assistant students.
Supervision Received Works under the general supervision of the dean of workforce development.
Examples of Duties - Essential Functions Act as liaison with OSBN related to nursing assistant programs for continued compliance with Chapter 851/Division 61 (851-061-0080).
Coordinate and Implement Board-approved curriculum and written policies necessary for the operation of the program maintained under OAR 851-061-0123(3)(g), within clinical sites, lab and classroom settings.
Submit required and requested reports and data to the Oregon Nursing Board.
Instructs and assesses nursing assistant students in a classroom, lab, learning center, or other setting, as appropriate.
Develop anonymous and confidential student assessments to assess programmatic effectiveness.
Represents the program and the college to the community, business, public agencies, and other organizations in a professional manner.
Works with Training Service Coordinator to ensure departmental equipment, supplies, and education materials are conducive to teaching and learning.
Works with director/dean of workforce development to evaluate instructors within the nursing assistant programs.
Works with Training Service Coordinator to schedule class/lab and clinical hours and activities.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Screening Criteria Education: Must hold active, unencumbered RN license.
Only degrees received from an accredited institution will be accepted: accreditation must be recognized by the office of degree authorization, US Department of Education, as required by ORS 348.

Final candidate will be required to provide official transcripts for required degree.
Licenses and Certificates: For assignments requiring operation of a motor vehicle, possession of a valid Oregon Driver’s License and proof of an acceptable driving record are required.
New employees establishing resident status in the State of Oregon must obtain an Oregon driver’s license within 30 days (ORS 807.
020 (1)).
Experience: Must have at least two years of RN experience, with at least one year in direct patient care.
Must have at least one year of nursing experience in the provision of long-term care facility services and one year of experience in an acute care facility.
Ability to: Ability to be approved by OSBN in the role of ‘Program Director’ for Nursing Assistant programs Physical Demands: The physical demands listed below represent those that must be met by an incumbent to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

While performing the duties of this position, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, reach, bend, kneel, stoop, twist, crouch, climb, balance, see, talk, hear, and manipulate objects.
Physical duties required for this role are the same as the scope of practice for a certified nursing assistant.
The position requires some mobility including the ability to move materials less than 5 pounds daily, 5-25 pounds occasionally, and 25-60 pounds rarely.
This position requires both verbal and written communication abilities.

While performing the duties of this position, the employee is primarily working indoors, within a classroom, lab, or office environment.
The employee may also work within a long-term care facility, and/or acute care setting, and/or an affiliated high school campus, off campus.
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate and lighting is adequate.
