Regional Engineers perform a full range of project planning, design, and construction management functions on habitat and water delivery infrastructure projects.

S in an engineering curriculum.
Desirable qualifications include registration as a civil engineer, GPS surveying, Civil3D, construction inspection and management, soil science, hydraulics, agricultural engineering, levee/canal design, and/or pump station design.
Demonstrated oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills are essential.
Candidates must be self-motivated, goal oriented, and able to work with and solve problems in close team-based relationships.
Candidates must be able to perform field work that includes strenuous outdoor activity in difficult environmental conditions.
Completion of safety training for all-terrain vehicle operation will be required.
Responsibilities Regional Engineers perform a full range of project planning, design, contracting, and construction management functions on wetland, riparian, and associated habitat restoration projects.
A close working relationship with the engineering supervisor located in Reno, NV, the DU Biologist located in Susanville, CA, other DU staff, local, state, and federal personnel, private landowners, and other conservation partners will be an important aspect of the job.
The position will primarily include travel throughout northern California and may at times include limited travel to Nevada, and Oregon.
Specific duties include: Prepare project scope of work and budgets for funding proposals.
Develop topographic surveys, including collection of field survey data for design.
Prepare project plans, technical specifications, and cost estimates.
Prepare bid documents, conduct pre-bid site meetings and final contractor selection.
Conduct field inspections and perform construction management oversight.
Ensure that consultants and contractors adhere to project plans, specifications, and schedules.
Act as contracting officer to ensure contract compliance and budget management.
Salary: Salary commensurate with education and experience.
