POSITION TITLE: Licensed Physical Therapist Assistant
POSITION SUMMARY:
Administers medically prescribed physical therapy treatment programs under the direction of the physical therapist per professional and regulatory requirements.
Provides interventions that assist the patient to restore function, relieve pain, and prevent disability following disease, injury, or loss of body parts.
Maintains confidentiality.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
After the Physical Therapist completes evaluation and plan of care, PTA provides therapy services per established treatment plan as professional judgment and conscientious practice dictates.
Assists Therapist to modify treatment plans and prepare discharge summaries as warranted.
Prepares and maintains written and electronic documentation as required for the profession and the department in a timely manner, including billing, treatment plans and daily progress notes.
Communicates essential information to primary therapist and to others within the department to facilitate improved patient care.
MARGINAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Performs other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS:
REQUIRED:
AHD CPR certification required by end of month from 60 days of hire and maintained; and Computer literacy skills.
Lic/Reg/Cert: Current Oregon licensure as a Physical Therapist Assistant.
Current driver’s license
TYPICAL PHYSICAL/MENTAL DEMANDS:
Able to stand, walk, bend, squat, and reach frequently.
Possesses physical agility and adequate reaction time to respond quickly and appropriately to unexpected patient care needs.
Must be able to see, hear and speak with or without assistive devices.
Must be able to lift 50 pounds during patient mobility occasionally and 25 pounds or less frequently utilizing proper body mechanics.
Needs ability to communicate effectively through reading, writing, and speaking in person or on telephone.
PAY RATE: $27.
