POSITION TITLE: MCH Clinical Educator POSITON SUMMARY: Responsible for assessing, developing, planning, implementing and evaluating educational programs for Maternal Child Health personnel to maintain their competency and ongoing education.
Manage all staff competencies, attend policy review committee and manage department policies.
Organize and implement new hire department orientation and traveler education/onboarding.
Direct report to the Director of Maternal Children Health and will be accountable to all department Managers.
Provides educational support to all units within Maternal Child Health.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Clinical Education Collaborates with other members of the health care team as required Assesses the environment to determine educational needs of patients and MCH personnel Plans and provides MCH personnel education Acts as a clinical resource for MCH personnel using evidence-based standards and prevailing guidelines Assists MCH personnel in the evaluation of current practice through quality and process improvement measures Facilitates and monitors MCH personnel compliance with organizational policies and procedures and regulatory and accreditation standards Manages all aspects of educational projects to include fiscal responsibility Maintains MCH employee educational data and records as required Facilitates student learning experiences in the MCH setting Pursues professional growth and participates in a professional organization Provides competent and ethical care within legal standards of practice as applicable to the job title Administration and facilitation of HealthStream modules education with MCH staff EPIC Education Provides training support for EPIC STOCK and SnapBoard platforms.
Provides training support for OBIX platforms Analyze and assist staff with computerized charting issues Prepares for unexpected/emergent situations.
Accepts responsibility and provides training for care, maintenance and operation of specified equipment.
Performs and maintains skills and competency on annual basis; Attends 75% of staff meetings and other meetings as requested.
Maintain a thorough knowledge of departmental and Medical center policies and procedures as they pertain to the job, including the fire and disaster plans.
Maintains quality and efficiency standards.
Maintains ability to function as a staff nurse in at least 1 of the nursing units within the department.
Shares Leadership ON-CALL coverage with MCH Director and Manager.
MARGINAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements QUALIFICATIONS: REQUIRED: Current registered nurse licensure in state of Oregon.
Listed on Oregon State Board of Nursing.
Five years direct clinical experience either OB or Pediatric Care.
Basic computer skills (e.
g.
, Microsoft365 applications).
PREFERRED: Masters degree in nursing, education, or other related field preferred.
Experience presenting educational programs.
TYPICAL PHYSICAL/MENTAL DEMANDS: Frequent sitting/standing throughout shift.
Able to work independently while making difficult decisions in stressful situations.
Ability to lift 50lbs or more.
PAY RATE: $43.
86 - $64.
