Function:
To assist the classroom teacher and building administrator in supporting the educational needs of students with diverse learning needs.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Assist teachers in an instructional setting with instruction and classroom management.
Organize and manage students’ work under the teacher’s direction.
Assist teachers in correcting and recording students’ work and in testing students.
Supervise class for short periods of time.
Assist students on computers and with various computer programs and testing programs.
Work directly with students with diverse needs.
Implement planned activities using teacher-designed methods and materials for individual and small groups for instructional support, including those with special needs.
Supervise a variety of student activities including cafeteria, bus loading and unloading, field, trips, hallways and other areas where students gather.
Prepare and provide clerical support to teachers for instructional materials using various office equipment, resource materials, and AV equipment, copying, faxing, etc.
Maintain accurate records and gathers information within the scope of District policies and state and federal laws.
Communicate effectively with teachers.
Requirements:
Associate’s Degree or pass paraprofessional skills testing prior to employment;
High school diploma/equivalent;
Experience working with children.
Must provide proof of COVID Vaccination
