ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Collaborate with hospital staff, IT professionals, and medical device vendors to plan, support, and implement cardiopulmonary and cardiology devices and device integration strategies, upgrades, and training.
Certification in relevant Epic clinical modules.
Management and support of other third-party systems, including OBIX for the Family Birthing Center (FBC).
Assess the compatibility and interoperability of new and existing medical devices, while supporting the Cardiopulmonary devices (EKG, Holter, EGG, Pacer, Stress, PFT) and others.
Install, configure, and maintain hardware and software components required for device integration.
Experience with Spacelabs (Cardiac monitoring equipment), Epiphany (EKG), Sentinel (Holter, Ambulatory BP (Blood Pressure)), Natus (EEG), Murj – PACER, Baxter (Stress), and MGC (PFT) and other like systems.
Develop and implement protocols for data exchange between medical devices and hospital information systems.
Takes the role of Credentialed Trainer (CT) as needed, maintains Epic certification(s) and works collaboratively with the Principal Trainer program.
Provides Analyst level support to Cardiopulmonary, Cardiology, and device integrations, Information Systems and other clinical and operations systems as needed.
Skill in conducting interviews, collecting information, assessing hardware, software, operational, clinical, and business needs.
Identifies and documents/implements customer workflow and requirements.
Provide training to hospital staff on the proper use and maintenance of integrated devices.
Create and maintain documentation related to device integration processes, configurations, and troubleshooting procedures.
Provides technical recommendation(s) and complex solution sets to meet operational and clinical efficiencies; informs customer and leadership of what will be involved in the project(s) and documents the process, focusing on the impact on quality and operational efficiencies.
Supports additional modules/systems as needed.
Plans and supports planned and unplanned downtimes, application support, and optimization.
Makes regular rounds throughout the hospital to acquire feedback from end-users, assessing the effectiveness of the information systems and charge capture driving the best clinical outcomes.
Writes related policies and procedures.
Provides leadership in hospital committees, attends community connect, and departmental meetings.
Consistently demonstrates a professional, self-directed approach to cooperative relationships.
Excellent verbal and written communication.
Works independently and with others.
Manages relationships with trust, honesty, respect, and integrity.
Ability to adapt to change rapidly; ability to prioritize activities complete tasks in a timely manner.
MARGINAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Performs other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS: REQUIRED: Bachelor's degree in nursing, information technology, health sciences or related area or equivalent level of training/experience; minimum of five (5) years' experience, specifically with cardiopulmonary applications, operations, and workflows (EKG, EEG, Holter, Stress, PFT, Pacer); demonstrated familiarity with cardiopulmonary operational and business workflows, cardiac monitoring equipment (Spacelabs); ability to organize work and attend to detail; and an ability to work collaboratively across multiple departments and multiple schedules.
Works closely with Clinical and Operations/Financial teams, Providers and advances operational, clinical, and business objectives into functional Information Systems supporting focus on patient safety, quality, and customer service.
Takes call as needed.
PREFERRED: Experience working with Epic Information Systems and Epic’s Clinical Module(s) – Orders, Inpatient; Applicable healthcare experience with Clinical workflows, operations, and revenue cycle knowledge; knowledge of cardiac monitoring systems, functions as a top-level contributor with the Information Systems information and operations workflows.
TYPICAL PHYSICAL/MENTAL DEMANDS: Medium physical demands capability required.
