Ophthalmic Technician

Associate degree (preferred).
One year of experience as an ophthalmic assistant (A plus).

*Essential Job Duties* Our well established and busy ophthalmic practice is seeking to hire a full-time Ophthalmic Assistant.
COA certification or previous medical office experience is preferred but not required.
-Review patient charts to ensure complete and accurate information; interview patients and document ocular and medical histories; maintain patient confidentiality.
-Able to perform testing required by type of exam.
-Assist the physician during diagnostic and minor surgical procedures, including instrumentation, sterile preparations and documentation.
-Prepare procedure and exam rooms; maintain cleanliness of rooms; inventory equipment and supplies; replenish supplies and equipment.
-Maintain a positive attitude and professional appearance.
-Perform other duties as assigned.
Physical Demands – Must be able to stand for long periods of time.
Must be able to write and type proficiently.
Must be able to hold arms at shoulder height.
Must have manual dexterity to work with ophthalmic equipment.
*Work Location*: Two locations – Ashland, OR and Yreka, CA.
*Experience*: Eye Care 1 year preferred.
*Schedule*: Monday – Friday Full Time (32-40 hours per week).
*Benefitted Full Time Position*: health insurance, paid holidays, vacation/sick time, and 401K after qualifying period.
