If Alevia sounds like the team you’ve been looking for, read on! *ABOUT YOU* As a Medical Administrative Assistant, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our physical therapy practice.
Your excellent communication skills along with your strong organizational abilities, will be essential in providing exceptional customer service to our diverse patient population.
You will work closely with therapists, patients, and the administrative team to facilitate administrative tasks, maintain patient records, and ensure efficient clinic operations.
*RESPONSIBILITIES* * Greet and welcome patients in a friendly and professional manner, both in person and over the phone.
* Schedule and manage patient appointments, ensuring optimal utilization of therapy sessions and efficient workflow.
* Collect and update patient demographic and medical information accurately, adhering to patient confidentiality guidelines.
* Coordinate with referring physicians, specialists, and other healthcare professionals via fax, phone, and email to facilitate seamless care coordination.
* Perform general administrative tasks, such as filing, faxing, scanning, and managing office supplies.
*QUALIFICATIONS* * PREFERRED: Experience in a medical office setting.
* PREFERRED: Experience with insurance authorizations.
* PREFERRED: Fluency in both Spanish and English * High school diploma or equivalent; additional training in medical office administration is a plus.
* Proven experience as a medical administrative assistant or in a similar role, preferably in a healthcare or physical therapy setting.
* Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to interact compassionately and professionally with patients from diverse backgrounds.
* Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, ensuring accurate and timely completion of tasks.
* Proficient in using electronic health record (EHR) systems, Microsoft Office programs, and other office software applications.
* Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks efficiently, while maintaining a positive attitude.
* Strong ethical standards, maintaining patient confidentiality and adhering to HIPAA regulations.
