_ *POSITION: *Housing Director *REPORTS TO:* Executive Director *SALARY: *$66,650 annual *HOURS:* 40 hours per week/salaried; some evenings and weekends may be required; on-call shifts required; some overnight shifts may be required *STATUS: *Exempt from state and federal overtime requirements; not eligible for overtime pay *LOCATION: *YES’s emergency shelter and offices in Yreka, CA; some travel throughout Siskiyou County and the state of California required; some remote work possible with supervisor approval *BENEFITS:* * Health, dental and vision insurance with employee’s premiums 100% paid by YES; * Generous vacation and sick leave; * Tuition reimbursement after one year of consecutive employment; * Reimbursement for purchase and use of personal cell phone; * Flexible scheduling with supervisor approval.
*DESCRIPTION:* Under the supervision of the Executive Director, the Housing Director will oversee YES’s Housing Program, including the creation of new youth-focused housing projects and the operation of YES’s emergency shelter, Becky’s Place.
The Housing Director will supervise a team of housing staff to provide services that support and lead to the self-sustainability of youth clients, assist the Deputy and Executive Directors in managing housing grants, and collaborate with local homeless liaisons and county and community agencies.

* Cover letter * Resume detailing all work history *RESPONSIBILITIES:* * Develop, plan, implement and supervise new housing projects and initiatives; * Ensure the successful operation of Becky’s Place, YES’s emergency shelter for transition-age youth; * Ensure the hiring, training, management, supervision and retention of competent and qualified Housing Program staff to provide trauma-informed, responsive, and supportive direct services to youth; * Build and maintain collaborative partnerships and establish multi-agency agreements that support Housing clients and the community; * Guide program-specific strategic planning to ensure that the Housing Program can fulfill its objectives into the future; * Manage and analyze financial information for the Housing Program, including revenues and expenditures, to ensure all operations are within budget; * Communicate (verbally and written) financial and policy Housing Program information to staff, volunteers, clients, funders and community members; * Collect, analyze, maintain and summarize Housing Program data or other required information to prepare and deliver various agency, funder and government reports; * Advocate for YES clients, staff and housing projects at relevant agency and community meetings pertaining to homelessness, housing, support services and funding opportunities; * Provide support to Housing Program clients and staff when needed to maintain healthy, safe, and trauma-informed living environments across the Housing Program’s projects; * Support the Housing Coordinator, Housing Advocate, Shelter Staff and any other Housing Program staff in the provision of direct client services as needed, including one-on-one case management tasks, transportation, skill building and any other supports needed to ensure youth have opportunities to complete case goals; * Perform any other duties related to the success of YES’s Housing Program or as assigned by the Deputy or Executive Directors.
*QUALIFICATIONS:* * Authorized to work in the United States; * Ability to pass a background check; * Possession of valid driver’s license, good driving record and reliable vehicle for travel; * Knowledge of YES’s programs, social work ethics and best practices, and trauma-informed care; * Strong knowledge and application of case management ethics, HIPAA, Housing First, and Harm Reduction philosophies; * Experience working with unhoused populations and current knowledge of Housing programs, laws, and resources at the county, state, and federal level; * Experience working with individuals experiencing mental health struggles, substance use, and homelessness; * Experience working with teens and other young people; * Ability to develop and maintain professional behavior/appropriate boundaries with youth and staff members; * Management experience, including staff supervision and fiscal management duties; * Capacity to support in maintaining 24-hour staffing at YES’s emergency shelter; * Previous government grant writing and/or reporting experience; * High-level strategic thinking and planning skills; * Ability to keep all client information confidential; * Ability to maintain work schedule; * Ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment; * Ability to initiate recommendations regarding programmatic or agency improvements when the need arises; * Exceptional observation, analytical, and listening skills; * Exceptional communication skills, including public speaking ability; * Excellent computer skills and experience in using Google Suite, Microsoft Office, Adobe, etc.
