Director of Outreach and Engagement Programs Southern Oregon University Position Number: A00552 Rate: $76,530.

0 FTE,non-reduced) Position Summary: The Director of Outreach and Engagement Programs provides leadership for the University's outreach to pre-college and older adult learners.
The Director builds partnerships to foster a robust selection of lifelong learning opportunities and provides comprehensive leadership in planning, development, marketing, budgeting, fundraising, grant writing, and assessment of these programs.
This position reports to the Executive Director of Admissions and Recruitment.
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelors degree.
Demonstrated successful budget management, grant writing and fundraising experience.
Proven track record of securing grants from a variety of sources.
Experience with ensuring compliance with grant agreements including expenditure of funds and grant reporting requirements.
Experience serving as the public face of a program in presentations to groups and/or media Preferred Qualification : Masters Degree.
Five or more years administrative experience in pre-college programs for youth in grades 6-12.
Two or more years working within the K-20 educational system Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Excellent communication skills; ability to effectively communicate information in a clear and understandable manner.
Ability to work with a high level of productivity and accuracy/attention to detail.
Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Ability to initiate, establish, and foster communication and teamwork by maintaining a positive, cooperative, productive work atmosphere in and outside the University with the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships within a diverse population and with those from various cultural backgrounds.
Ability to adapt to and work effectively in a heavily bureaucratic environment which requires regular interaction with a number of levels within the organization.
Working knowledge, or ability to quickly learn, university infrastructure, policies and procedures.
Demonstrated ability to secure external funding support for educational programs; Demonstrated experience using multiple forms of electronic communication; Demonstrated ability to adapt to a changing technological environment Strong interpersonal and communications skills; Demonstrated excellence in oral and written communication, including effective use of electronic (traditional and web-based) and printed mass media; Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision and manage competing time demands; General ability to use common computer software/ability to effectively use word processing, spreadsheet, and database software, as well as proficiency with information technology, web sites and social media; Demonstrated ability to work with diverse audiences and to build community around culturally relevant programming; A demonstrable commitment to promoting and enhancing diversity.

Special Conditions Must be willing to travel and attend training programs off-site for occasional professional development.
Must be able to work additional hours and adjust working hours to meet special jobs.
