I am selling my flock of Khaki Campbell and Indian Runner ducks.
I have enjoyed having them, but now that I have chickens again we don't really need them for eggs, and they are more work than I seem to be keeping up with at this season in my life.
I am not in a hurry to sell them, so I am willing to hold out for the right person/right home for them to go to.
Will only sell to a good home! Please include photographs of the place you intend to keep the ducks when you contact me.
Khaki Campbells: 5 hens, 1 drake.
They are in their second year of laying and are still laying very well—I purchased them in their first year of laying and was enjoying a five-for-five laying rate for about the first year.
Now they are producing maybe four-for-five and occasionally three-for-five, but they still have five-for-five days.
I incubated and hatched a batch of their eggs last year, and I had a fantastic fertility rate from "Sir Francis Drake.
" The breeder I purchased the Khakis from locally was breeding them for egg-laying capability, not to conform to breed standard, so some of them have very odd variations like facial stripes, and many of them have white patches (which I love myself).
The drake, "Sir Francis," is a gorgeous animal and an excellent breeding drake if you don't mind the white markings.
Indian Runners: 3 hens, 1 drake.
I purchased the Runners as hatching eggs from a reputable local breeder, and hatched them in May 2023.
They should be laying by now, but weirdly enough I have not found any eggs from them.
That's a puzzle, and I don't know what's going on there—either they are not laying, or they are laying somewhere I'm not finding their eggs.
So I'm afraid buyer takes them as-is.
I have two white hens with light gray patches, and one chocolate hen with white mottling; the drake is a huge gray boy with white mottling, and he is a very impressive Runner breeding drake if I do say so myself.
This would be a nice, high-quality (though interrelated) Runner breeding flock for someone…if they were laying eggs.
$125 for all (5 Khaki hens, 3 Runner hens, 1 Khaki drake, 1 Runner drake) $50 for the Indian Runner flock (3 hens + 1 drake) $100 for the Khaki Campbell flock (5 hens + 1 drake) Sold separately, Khaki hens $25 each, Runner hens $20 each, drakes $10 each DISCLAIMER: My chickens have Marek's Disease.
Ducks cannot become infected with and do not carry Marek's, but they have been on the same ground that the chickens have, so I do not recommend you take my ducks if you have chickens.
