My passion for working with children started early in life while participating and then eventually assisting in my mother’s home daycare.
I continued building on that interest and skill set in my many years spent leading summer camps for a local outdoor youth program as well as providing private care for toddlers and young children.
My dedication to supporting both children and families as well as my love for adventure eventually brought me abroad to Mexico, Australia, and Fiji.
I worked and volunteered with youth programs, and orphanages, and provided care, education, and support to children and adults with minor to severe disabilities.
I am deeply inspired by the bravery, authenticity, limitless creativity, and active imagination that children embody as they explore the world and develop.
Working with children has provided a mirror for me to reflect on my own personal growth and healing alongside them as I find creative ways to support and relate to each child’s unique background, perspective, and experience.
I especially cherish children’s capacity to encourage us as educators to be present, enjoy the moment, and authentically express ourselves.
I am dedicated to holding space for their resilience, vulnerability, and sense of belonging by creating a constructive and safe environment for children to flourish while in my care, and feel that the outdoors is the perfect setting to do this.
My favorite ways to work with children are shaped by my desire to share my love of art, music, nature connection, caring for animals, nutritious cooking, exercise, healthy habits, constructive communication, exploration, and free-spirited play and imagination.
Promoting healthy independence, persistence, curiosity, and a sense of respect for oneself and others is a key aspect of my teaching style as I continue my journey of self-discovery by dedicating myself to my role as a student of Early Childhood Education, mentoring in an outdoor preschool, and providing support for families through this next chapter of my life.
Willing to drive to Ashland & Medford.
