For Sale: 2020 Forest River R-Pod 176 Hood River 10th Anniversary Edition
Our 2020 Forest River R-Pod 176 Hood River 10th Anniversary Edition is an exceptional, easy-to-tow, well-appointed, and comfortable travel trailer.
The pod has been used sparingly and for vacation only.
It has been cared for and maintained meticulously.
Bearings were redone about 500 miles ago, seals and roof are inspected annually, tanks are sanitized every couple of months.
We do all the maintenance r-pod says to do.
The trailer gets regular washes and waxes and exterior and interior details.
It is one of the last old-school shaped r-pods out there and is really easy to tow and maneuver into small campgrounds.
It is an excellent trailer, and it has been fun to own… just moving on to the van life.

Modifications:
a.
Batteries: Two 12v - 24 amp sealed batteries are wired in parallel and have battery lockboxes with matching locks.
b.
Composting Toilet (optional): The pod was modified to allow an airhead composting toilet, which allows us to never use a dump anywhere and stay out camping without hookups for as many days as one has water.
I added a continuous low amp fan with a switch that draws out the exhaust from the existing exhaust pipe.
The traditional toilet can easily be put back in and comes with the trailer.
c.
Black/Grey Tank Combination: I created a pipe that allows you to have two gray tanks instead of one effectively by diverting the gray tank water to the black tank.
This is not a structural modification it’s an external pipe that balances the tanks and is easily stored in the storage bin, so no tanks were harmed in this process.
d.
Bathroom Sink Removal: One of the most popular modifications is to remove the useless sink in the bathroom to give it more space.
I did that.
e.
Marine Toilet Holder: I added a marine toilet paper holder so you can shower without removing the toilet paper.
f.
Shower: I added a nice shower handle with an on/off switch.
g.
Convection Oven Removal: I removed the convection oven and converted that space into a pantry.
We never used the convection oven, so this modification allows for easier food prep and storage.
The convection oven still comes with the trailer and can easily be put back.
h.
Lagun Table: A lagun table was added to the dinette area to make it more practical, as the original table was very clunky/heavy and took a lot of foot space away.
I used a basic plywood top, but any top can be can be created.
i.
Closet: I created simple shelving in the hanging closet to help accommodate more clothes while living space for hanging clothes.
j.
Secret Panel Removal: I found a panel in a lower cabinet that was removing 2 ft.
² of space to cover a wire.
I removed this panel and protected the wire.
k.
Bunk bed gas lifts: The lower bunk has a large storage space underneath it.
I created the ability to swing the base open and added gas lifts, so it’s easy to do that.
l.
Reinforced Tongue for Sway Bars: Another issue some pods have is a thinner tongue metal, so I reinforced the areas where the sway bar brackets sit to ensure that they had a strong connection.
This reinforcement was welded by a professional welder.
m.
LED lights: Various warm-colored low light LED lights were added to the trailer as the in-house lights are very bright.
We use these to create a little ambience.
n.
Access to storage: I converted the fixed dinette seat to allow for opening while in the trailer and easy access to the furnace, water tank, and water heater.
o.
Extra Hose Storage: I added an extra storage container to house an additional hose.
p.
De-badged: I removed all the goofy decals.
q.
Door lock: Upgraded code door lock and combo locks on hatches.
