Beautiful example of a classic camper that’s ready for any adventure! Known for their quality and aerodynamics, it was called "The Greatest Generation's Camper".
Avions are built much better than Airstreams.
And you get a lot more bang for your buck, too! I've mostly restored this camper with modern components.
Recent upgrades/repairs:
New power converter (no more noisy fan!)
On-demand water heater
Houghton AC unit (heat pump, very quiet and can act as an efficient heater)
Thermostat for Suburban heater unit
PEX plumbing throughout.
New quiet water pump you can barely hear
Delta multi-spray faucet (amazing, I love it!)
Brand new Dometic porcelain toilet
New solid vinyl flooring throughout
Two new MaxxFan exhaust fans
Lithium 100AH battery
Newly sealed roof
Reupholstered couch and dinette
Stock things that are awesome:
Full size bath tub/shower
Double porcelain-lined cast iron sink
Three ZipDee awnings
Incredible amount of storage in cupboards and closets
Exterior storage in the “basement“
Triple axle that pulls so smooth that you’ll forget it’s there!
Fold out dining table
Convertible couch that’s very comfortable
Completely intact, stock window coverings that offer sheer and opaque options
Aluminum wheels
Spare tire
Oh, and more!
Roughly 7000lbs dry, with a tongue weight of 650lbs.
3/4 tons will pull it just fine.
Once up to speed, the aerodynamics are much more imporant than the weight, and boy does it glide! I’d love to take it on a ride to your house if you need me to transport it :)
All in all, this is a very functional and high-quality unit! Good for living in, using as an Airbnb, or, of course, camping!
