Pacific Crest Federal Credit Union is looking for a qualified professional for our open Accounting Specialist position.
The Accounting Specialist is responsible for performing transactional and accounting functions to facilitate a Crest Experience for our members.
Working with staff across the organization providing support by listening, thinking, and taking action to meet needs and provide solutions in the fulfillment of Pacific Crests mission of providing our members and communities with the opportunity to prosper.
Plays a vital role in maintaining accurate financial records, processing transactions and supporting various accounting functions within the credit union.
Working effectively in support of department staff to ensure the department’s duties and responsibilities are fulfilled.

Essential Job Functions:
Contribute to the fulfillment of Pacific Crest’s mission.
Complete assigned daily, monthly, and quarterly tasks and reporting accurately and within required time frames.
Maintain assigned ledgers and perform general ledger reconciliations on schedule to ensure accuracy of postings.
Keep procedure and process documentation up to date.
Assist with audits and regulatory exams.
Maintain investment folders and maintain tracking of associated funds.
Process branch and ATM cash orders.
Field support and department calls as needed.
Actively participate in department and credit union projects as assigned.
Learn and keep current on accounting department roles and duties and fill in for team member’s during absences.
Take ownership of personal development by leveraging monthly coaching and participating in continuing education
Engage in continuous improvement
Education and Experience:
2-4 years of financial services or related experience preferred
2-4 years Accounting or bookkeeping experience preferred
Advanced working knowledge of Word and Excel.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Strong analytical, decision making, and complex problem-solving skills.
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Excellent technical skills.
Self-motivated to learn and grow within the position.
Proven attention to detail.
Physical Considerations:
A significant level of trust and diplomacy is required, in addition to normal courtesy and tact.
Outside contacts become important and fostering sound relationships with other entities (companies and/or individuals) is necessary.
Ability to lift and/or carry up to 25 pounds
Stooping; kneeling; crouching; and reaching below, at, and over shoulder level required
Sitting – 80%; standing and walking - 20%
Hearing, visual, and verbal ability required.
