This role places a strong emphasis on fostering collaborative partnerships with credit union teams, aimed at identifying opportunities for improvement and delivering insightful recommendations for enhancement.
The audit program is dedicated to upholding the organization's strategic vision, mission, and deeply ingrained values, ensuring seamless alignment towards collective success.
Supports achievement of the organization's Vision of the Most Loyal Members in the Nation through promotion of safety and soundness of the credit union by working directly with the Senior Internal Auditor to assure the effectiveness of governance, risk management, and internal controls across the enterprise.
Responsible for working individually or with the Senior Internal Auditor to plan, execute, and report on internal audits performed across the organization's lines of business, as required by the annual internal audit plan.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities: 40% Executes internal audits as directed by the Senior Internal Auditor in accordance with the credit union's internal audit plan and adopted standards which assesses the efficiency and effectiveness of operations, reliability and integrity of reporting processes, and compliance with laws, regulations, policies, guidelines, and contracts.
25% Partners with the Senior Internal Auditor to report audit findings and recommended enhancements to the credit union's operating systems and processes to mitigate risk and provide assurance of compliance with Board policies, laws, and regulations.
20% Supports the Senior Internal Auditor with updating and maintaining the internal audit finding log to add newly identified audit findings and track each item for management's completion.
10% Assists the Senior Internal Auditor with facilitation of regulatory examinations, external audit, and outsourced internal audit activities.
5% Proactively performs other duties as needed or assigned.
Knowledge and Skills: Experience: One year to three years of similar or related experience.
Education: (1) A two-year college degree, or (2) completion of a specialized certification or licensing, or (3) completion of specialized training courses conducted by vendors, or (4) job-specific skills acquired through an apprenticeship program, or (5) a combination of relevant education and experience.
Interpersonal Skills: Work involves extensive personal contact with others and is of a personal or sensitive nature.
Motivating, influencing, and/or training others is key at this level.
Outside contacts become important and fostering sound relationships with other entities (companies and/or individuals) becomes necessary and often requires the ability to influence and/or sell ideas or services to others.
Other Skills: Must be highly productive, self-managed, resourceful, and dependable.
Solid knowledge in audit procedures and the ability to work with limited supervision.
Should possess a strong attention to detail and accuracy, demonstrate strategic and critical thinking, have sound decision making and high accountability skills.
Must have excellent verbal and written communication and the ability to motivate or influence others using diplomacy.
Must possess excellent PC skills with the aptitude to learn new software.
Must demonstrate adherence to, and support of the credit union's vision, mission, and values through words, action, and intent.
This position requires a heightened demonstration of loyalty to those being audited in order to position the internal audit department as a partner for the credit union to achieve its goals and objectives.
Physical Requirements: Some adjusting or moving objects up to 30 pounds in all directions.
Must be able to remain in a stationary position, often standing or sitting for prolonged periods.
Repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers while using computer.
Communicating with others to exchange information.
Perceiving the nature of sounds at normal speaking levels or without correction.
Ability to receive detailed information through oral communication and make fine discernments in sound.
Close and continuous visual acuity to perform activities such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures, transcribing, viewing a computer terminal, and extensive reading.
Work Environment: This job is an exempt position that requires flexibility in scheduling tasks and projects.
The employee must independently monitor hours and judge the time needed to be spent on applicable duties.
Employee must be capable of adjusting to unpredictable schedules proactively.
As a direct representative of the credit union, the employee must conduct and present themselves courteously and professionally.
Exposed to potentially hazardous conditions, i.

Travel to all credit union regions may be required.
Must have a valid state issued driver's license.
